How come we don't post on this anymore?

So it was Aaron's great idea to post on this once in a while, and I am saying we keep it up. Just because I went to Japan doesn't mean we can't keep in contact eh? So I'm doing good, there is something that happened but i don't want to post on it, just in case the person who I would be talking about searches online. That kind of defeats the whole purpose of this doesn't it? Oh well.

India is good. Everybody here keeps on asking me when my shadi is going to be. So, what is shadi - nothing less than the immensely important human tradition of marriage. It's gotten to the point that I'm thinking, yeah, when is my shadi going to be? Actually guys, I am kind of not so against it anymore. i.e., I think I'm ready. Hahah, craziness. But I'm where I want to be mentally in life (i.e. after two years in Japan) and pretty happy with...life. Things are good.

Other than that, I'm just chilling, studying, hanging out a little bit too much with family, though they are great, I am feeling the itch to do some work, I don't work, and after having a job, especially in Japan where everyone works so hard, I am feeling pretty lazy. So many Indians want to leave India, my cousin really to leave. But it's super hard, something like a 10 year wait even if somebody sponsors you from abroad.

India is beautiful when it's cool. I have yet to travel around but I am going to start doing so. I wish India was a bit more like Japan, or maybe I should say, they rest of the world where there are rules and people follow them, but no, there really aren't. I like it here but man is it stressful to get the necessary information when everybody might be lying to you. Yesterday, I went to exchange yen for rupees, and the rate was 50 rupees for 100 yen (it's just been going ridiculously up recently). So I did that but afterwards I went to check and pretended I was stupid by going to different stores and asking for the rate. I went to this one official looking office which had a western union sign on it, the dude tried to tell me 35 rupees for 100 yen. I felt like cutting his head off. I called him out on it by screaming at him, at least he had some look of shame on his face.

but other than that things are good : ) it's all about who you meet, I've had shopkeepers be very fair and give me discounts and other's try and screw me. I just wish there wasn't such a big informal economy.

aiight, post, I wanna know how you guys are doing.

later!

When to visit

Alright guys,

So the case might settle, but you never know, and my family still hasn't decided when they're coming. This much I know, I get 20 days off, to be taken between December 28 and January 9th, or March 16th until April 4rth. I think pretty much equally cold, but we can always travel south (We have to go to kyoto, people tell me it's the coffee table book pictures of Japan, everything is just amazing) and stay warm.

So Aaron, come in December if still finding 1000 dollar tickets. Everybody has off between Jan 1 till Jan 3 - It's Japanese New Year, and it's one of the biggest holidays here, the trains 'll be packed but I'm sure it will be beautiful and unforgettable. Also, Aaron, if you come around that time, than I won't have to take those three days off since they will already be off and I can still save time for my parents. I can take a week off before and after New Years, and we can do whatever.

Steve, my brother also wants to come when it's warmer, so in May 2-7 I don't have school and I can take off time. When is Chinese New Year? If it's in early February, the hokkaido snow festival that I really want to go to is on Feb 6th, and it's also one of the best in Japan like New Years. I have to teach at that time, but the 6th is on a Tuesday and I'm feeling like I can take that weekend up until Tuesday off. That's more tricky and I have to think through it more.

Think Progress » Bush says he uses “the Google.”

a common theme now among democratic campaigns this year is... don't vote for the other guy because he sides with bush

though...

I just found a flight leavnig nov 2nd returning nov 7th for 1000 $.

so the rule is buy way far in advance, or right before you leave, but not one month in advance cuz that's when prices double.

wow

right now late march is 1000 $ round trip (to nagoya, which is a lot closer to me) and late december is 2000 $ round trip. holy smokes.

Visiting

Ok, so I've emailed geico three times, and she just emailed me telling me that the claims manager is asking me if I know how much it costs to go round trip. What? Isn't she the claims manager. Isn't it her job to find out. Aaron, from what you tell me about accenture and how I see these business's work sometimes, I'm just like...what is going on?

So I'm going to email her a random figure (3,000 dollars sound right), and hopefully get a reply soon.

russian climbing video

A fellow JET told me about this video. Go on youtube or google video, and search for russian climbing video. The first minute is wack - it's parkour, the urban mountain climbing gymnastic sport. It's well worth your 8 minutes.
